Graphic Novels: Easier to barcode, easier to find

At the Opeartions Committee meeting on April 4, 2007 it was decided that MVLS/SALS catalogers will make individual records for graphic novel titles.  Patrons and staff will be able to immediately see the title of the series, volume number and specific title (when available) in the brief display of the PAC.  Check out Mew Mew Tokyo. Browsing and searching by series will also bring up the series title and volume number. Check out Princess Ai.

MVLS/SALS staff are working on the graphic novels on a “as see” basis.  Please be patient as we try and get these titles in order.

  1. Jennifer, I’m so happy with all these changes – particularly the decsion to make individual
records for graphic novels. Perhaps means more work for tech services staff.
    Many thanks to all involved!

  2. Great! This will make searching for specific titles much easier.
