At the Opeartions Committee meeting on April 4, 2007 it was decided that MVLS/SALS catalogers will make individual records for graphic novel titles. At the Opeartions Committee meeting on April 4, 2007 it was decided that MVLS/SALS catalogers will use different GMDs for more prominent display in the PAC for audiobooks formats, Playaways and Large print. Patrons and staff will now be able to keyword search for unabridged, abridged, Playaways, MP3 and large print.

We have discovered that having an apostrophe in the ISBN field of a bib record can prevent the patron from placing a request in the PAC. I guess the Polaris software is just not equipped to deal with an apostrophe in the ISBN.

As of November 15, 2006, the catalogers at SALS and SCP will be making a change to the way they enter new call numbers in bibliographic records.
The catalogers will only be adding Dewey numbers and cutter information in the 092 and 099 fields for new bib records. They will not be adding prefix/suffix information (such […]
