Publisher Imprints

Imprints

One method to distinguish if the publisher is an imprint is to look at the first 5 digits of the ISBN. If the numbers are the same, but the publisher name is different, it will still be considered the same edition. Do not create a new record. Another method to distinguish if the publishers are the same is to look at the CIP information on the back of the title page or to read the publisher information on the title page. There are instances when the ISBN is different, but the publishers are the same.
